Privacy Policy

Last updated 10 October 2026

Olluva is made and operated by Ralph Lawal, an independent developer based in Ireland (“we”, “us”).

The short version

What we store

WhatWhy
An anonymous identifier for your phone’s identitySo the server knows which two phones share a space
The name you type, and a profile picture if you add oneShown to your partner
Notes: text, drawings, photos, styling, and when they were sent and seenTo deliver them to your partner
Reactions, saved memories, important dates and scheduled notesTo provide those features
Your time zoneSo date reminders arrive in your morning
Push notification tokens for your device and its widgetsTo send notifications and refresh the widget
Your notification preferencesTo respect them
Subscription status, if you buy PremiumTo unlock Premium for you and your partner
If you choose to back up: the identifier Apple gives us for your Apple IDSo you can restore your space on another phone

Photos are re-encoded on your phone before upload, which removes embedded details such as the location where they were taken. The system photo picker is used, so the app only ever receives the photo you choose.

What we don’t collect

Your email address, phone number, contacts, precise location, advertising identifier, browsing history, or analytics about how you use the app. There are no third-party advertising or analytics tools in Olluva.

When you back up with Sign in with Apple we ask Apple for no name and no email. If Apple nevertheless includes an email address in what it returns, it is stored only as part of that sign-in record and is not used for anything else.

Who can see your content

Only you and your partner, through the app. Every request is checked on the server against the membership of your space.

Your content is encrypted in transit and at rest. It is not end-to-end encrypted: it is stored on our servers in a form the service can process, which is what allows notes to reach your widgets and to be delivered on a schedule. People who operate the service could technically access it; we do not read your notes.

Notifications and Lock Screen widgets do not show what a note says unless you turn that on. Notifications are delivered through Apple, so when previews are on, the preview text passes through Apple’s notification service.

How long we keep things

If you lose your phone

Because there is no account, your space is tied to your phone unless you back it up with your Apple ID in Settings. Without a backup, a lost or reset phone means that space cannot be recovered.

Your choices

Depending on where you live you may have further rights over your data, such as access, correction, erasure and objection. Contact us and we will help.

Children

Olluva is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above and tell you in the app.
